Michele Silvestri brings a lifelong commitment to social change and nearly 20 years experience in bilingual and international education to MIS RISE. An accomplished teacher and administrator, she holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and a Master’s degree in Education with a specialty in English as a New Language. Her teaching and administrative experience extend across the globe and include the USA, Haiti, Kenya, and France. In her most recent position as the American Section’s Head of History at the prestigious Lycée International in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, France, Michele spearheaded numerous initiatives to aid students in developing the academic and social skills necessary to thrive in their rigorous school environment, inspiring confidence, curiosity, and adaptability in her students.
The daughter of the founders of Malherbe International School, Anne-Claire Malherbe has been the head of MIS for the past 6 years. She brings her strong expertise in school management to MIS RISE and aims to maximize the synergies between MIS and MIS RISE in order to create a very strong environment in which young learners can thrive. Before becoming the head of MIS, Anne-Claire worked in real estate finance and business in France and Argentina. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce and an MBA from leading educational institutes in France and Canada.
Felice Morcombe moved to France in 2018 to explore and experience French culture. She was born in Perth, Australia where she has lived the majority of her life. She graduated at the University of Western Australia with a double degree in Conservation Biology and Zoology. After spending time working in the environmental industry, Felice went on to complete a Diploma of Secondary Education at Curtin University and majored in science and mathematics. Felice has worked at several different private and Montessori schools and is extremely excited to be a part of the MIS RISE team.
Marie-Laure Rouillon comes to MIS RISE with a wealth of overseas teaching experience. She taught middle and high school students at Shekou International School in Shenzhen, China for over seven years. While teaching at this American international school, she was responsible for teaching French native speakers French humanities via a distance learning program. She also prepared students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma for French as a Foreign Language. Marie-Laure has also taught students of all ages at the American Cooperative School of Tunis, Tunisia.
Marie-Laure holds a Professional Certification of Teaching French as a Foreign Language, a Bachelor in Arts and Science of Language, and a Master Year 1 in Linguistics of Teaching French as a Foreign Language.
In addition to teaching French humanities at MIS RISE, Marie-Laure also works with CM1 and CM2 students at Malherbe International School and teaches French to high school students who are taking online French IB classes.
Maria Bonilla comes to MIS RISE with over 25 years of teaching experience in both public and private schools. She has taught primary and secondary students as well as adults. Currently, she works in several French and international schools as a Spanish teacher and also prepares students for the DELE exam (Spanish as a Foreign Language Diploma).
Alison Ham comes to MIS RISE with a wide and varied background. An American certified physical education teacher, she holds a Master of Science in Ecology and Conservation Biology and has worked both for the World Wildlife Foundation and the Smithsonian Conservation Research Center. She is currently completing a Master of Science in Exercise and Nutrition Science from the UK. She specializes in youth fitness and wellness and teaches yoga and wellness in local international schools. Most recently, she taught physical education at the Forest International School in Mareil-Marly and at the Waldorf Steiner school, École Perceval, in Chatou.
Lexi Conrad comes to MIS RISE with over 10 years teaching in international schools around the world. Prior to teaching she worked in Costume and Wardrobe departments in various theatre companies. She holds a Master in Art Education from Rivier University and two BA degrees in Fashion & Costume Design from ESMOD. Of dual French-American citizenship, Lexi is bilingual in English and French, and is herself a product of international schools; she is the mother of three bi-cultural and bilingual boys. She also teaches from her art studio located in Anet.
Gina comes to MIS RISE with over 18 years of music teaching experience in both primary and secondary school in the U.K. She graduated from the University of Reading U.K. with a Bachelor of Music Degree and majored in music performance and composition. She also holds a Music Information Technology Master Degree from City University London. Gina is a fully UK qualified music teacher and she holds the Chartered London Teacher status.
Alastair Holland joins MIS RISE with a wealth of educational experience. In 2003, he established Sandy’s English School in Japan where he was the head for over 15 years. He has also taught medical English to medical undergraduates/medicine undergraduates. He holds a Bachelor of Science and an advanced TEFL Certificate (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and is also a physical education and sports teacher.
